a common beginner/intermediate question is how to take the ties they’ve learned and combined them into something. One way I found helpful to structure ties was to think of them like an outfit, you pick out a top, a bottom, some socks. Using a formula lets you build a ton of variations
| Orientation | Limbs | Torso | Accessories |
| Front | wrists | chest | hair |
| Back | ankles | waist | fingers/toes |
| Side | thighs | hips | face (blindfold/gag) |
I know it sounds simple but almost every tie you can think of combines just limbs and a torso tie.
For example waist to ____…..waist to ankles-hogtie, waist to ankles- agura, waist to thighs- basket tie. looking at just connecting two points you have 28 possible ties.

For a game to play at home roll some dice and see how you can combine 3 of these different tie off points to make a shape.
I’ve numbered 20 possible spots you could connect a rope to- but there are probably even more if you’re creative!
