I’ve adopted KEMs
and wanted to share a little bit about how I’ve implemented it.
As an ethical instructor:
I model visibly excellent consent in my classes.
- I ask students before touching them or their possessions.
- I disclose my relationship and agreements with my co- instructors to show established consent dynamics.
I practice robust consent in my personal life.
- I follow up with my play partners to check in after every play session.
- I encourage my bottoms to lead the escalation of play.
- I disclose my relationship status and emotional availability before playing with others.
- I provide discuss safer sex practices and exchange STI results with all my sexual partners prior to engaging in sexual activity.
I create an accessible and inclusive classroom environment.
- Provide my pronouns and ask students their preferred form of address
- Provide modification and variations to allow for a variety of body types.
- Provide written versions of my materials for students when possible.
- I provide accessibility accommodations whenever possible.
- I offer sliding scale and scholarships for my students.
- I have a zero tolerance policy on hate speech
- If I feel a student cannot safely practice what I am teaching for whatever reason I will ask them to observe and not participate in class.
- I am CPR and first aid certified
I maintain appropriate boundaries with my students.
- I do not play or date students for at least 2 months after they take a class with me ( unless we have a previously established relationship).
- I do not use my students for public demonstrations without negotiation prior to the class.
- I always remain clothed in my classes and require my students to keep their lower undergarment on during classes.
I do not use coercion to prevent anyone from sharing information about me.
- I encourage people to communicate their concerns to me and welcome feedback by whatever means feels most comfortable for the other person.
Mandatory Disclosures
I have never :
- Been convicted of any sexual or violent crime.
- Been subject of any type of restraining order.
- Been banned from a venue, organization, or banned from teaching at a venue or event.
- Used coercion to prevent anyone from sharing information about me.
